Statement of Faith
Statement of Faith
HSCC / CKGA · STATEMENT OF FAITH & CODE OF CONDUCT
This statement does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, is the sole and final source of all that we believe and speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind. For purposes of HSCC/CKGA faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our Executive Committee and Board of Directors are the final authority on the interpretation of this statement.

HSCC/CKGA is a Christian-based organization that supports the call to minister to homeschooling families and their communities. Our homeschool community organizations believe the Word of God in its entirety calls us to be salt and light in a very dark world. As believers committed to the cause of Christ, we exist to equip families to raise children who know God, love His Word, and carry His truth into every sphere of life. |
PART I What We Believe
01 The Scriptures
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is fully sufficient for faith and practice, and it is the standard by which all teaching, curriculum, and conduct within our community is measured.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 · 2 Peter 1:20–21 · Psalm 119:105
02 God
We believe in one eternal, sovereign God, existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.
Deuteronomy 6:4 · Matthew 28:19 · 2 Corinthians 13:14
03 Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.
John 1:1–14 · 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 · Colossians 1:15–20
04 The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is convicted of sin, enabled to live a godly life, and given understanding of the truth of Scripture.
John 14:26 · John 16:8–13 · Galatians 5:16–25
05 Humanity
We believe every person is created in the image of God, possessing inherent worth and dignity, and that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and stand in need of redemption.
Genesis 1:26–27 · Romans 3:23
06 Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone, apart from works, and that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8–9 · Acts 3:19–21 · Romans 10:9–10
07 The Church
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the importance of the local church for worship, accountability, service, and the encouragement of families.
Hebrews 10:24–25 · Ephesians 4:11–16
PART II What We Believe About Christian Education
08 Parents bear the primary responsibility
We believe God has entrusted the education and discipleship of children first and foremost to their parents. HSCC/CKGA exists to come alongside parents in that work — never to replace them.
Deuteronomy 6:4–9 · Ephesians 6:4 · Proverbs 22:6
09 All truth is God’s truth
We believe that in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and that every academic discipline — history, science, literature, mathematics, and the arts — is rightly understood only in the light of who God is and what He has revealed. We reject the notion that any subject can be taught from a neutral or godless vantage point.
Colossians 2:3, 8 · Proverbs 1:7 · Psalm 111:10
10 Education is discipleship
We believe teaching is never the mere transfer of information. A student fully trained becomes like his teacher, and so the character, conviction, and daily walk of those who instruct our children matter as much as their competence. Our aim is not only capable students but faithful disciples.
Luke 6:40 · 2 Timothy 2:2
11 The goal of learning
We believe the end of a Christian education is not achievement, credentials, or status, but a life that loves the Lord with all the heart, soul, mind, and strength, and loves one’s neighbor as oneself. We seek to cultivate wisdom, discernment, diligence, humility, and a readiness to give an answer for the hope within.
Mark 12:30–31 · 1 Peter 3:15 · James 3:13
12 Preparation for the world
We believe children educated in the fear of the Lord are being prepared to engage the world faithfully and courageously — not to withdraw from it. We train students to think biblically, to serve their communities, and to bear witness to Christ with both conviction and compassion.
Matthew 5:13–16 · Romans 12:2
13 Those who teach and serve
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of HSCC/CKGA as part of the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the members of our community, it is imperative that all persons tutoring, teaching, volunteering, or serving in any capacity within HSCC/CKGA affirm this Statement of Faith and seek to live consistently with it in both public and private conduct.
1 Timothy 4:12 · Titus 2:7–8 · James 3:1
PART III Christian Conduct
14 Personal holiness
We believe every member of this community is called to pursue holiness in speech, thought, and conduct, bearing the fruit of the Spirit and reflecting the character of Christ. This includes honesty, humility, purity, faithfulness in relationships, and sexual conduct that accords with the historic biblical standard.
Galatians 5:22–23 · Philippians 4:8 · 1 Thessalonians 4:3–7
15 Dignity and love toward all
We believe every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of HSCC/CKGA.
Mark 12:28–31 · Luke 6:31 · 1 John 4:7–11
